DIY Glitter Jars ♥

Image

Hey guys! Today’s post is going to be a pictorial on how to make these super easy glitter jars! The pictures are not doing these justice – they are so super glittery and look so cute! It’s a great way to re-use all of those jars from food that you might throw away otherwise. You could also stick a fake battery operated candle (only use a fake candle) inside one of these for a really pretty candle. I tired it and it works great 🙂 I got this from a DIY video that Bethany Mota uploaded around Valentines Day last year. Without further ado, lets get on with the simple tutorial!

Image

Step 1. Gather your supplies. You will need a clean, label-free jar, spray adhesive, glitter of your choice, and random stuff to decorate the jar with. Some ideas are ribbon, jewels, stickers, etc. I used fabric for my ribbon!

Step 2. Take your jar and clean it off, making sure there is no residue left on it from a label.

Step 3. Take your spray adhesive and lightly spray the inside of the jar – make sure the whole inside is covered with adhesive so glitter will stick everywhere. Poor a reasonable amount of glitter in the jar and put the cover on it. Shake the glitter around until you see the whole inside is covered and sparkly 🙂 Take off the cover and tap the jar upside down on some paper so the excess glitter is removed.

Step 4. Cut some ribbon or fabric and tie it around the jar. You can decorate it however you want. It’s up to you!

Step 5. Stick what you want in it – I used fake flowers, as you wouldn’t want to use real flowers – putting water in the jar would ruin it.

That’s it! I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial. These are ridiculously easy to make, aren’t they? I hope you give them a try 🙂

DIY Frilly Hair Accessories

Image

Hey everyone! I’ve been obsessed with making these hair accessories lately! They look so pretty once they are done, not to mention they are so fun to make. I used some scraps of lace and fabric I had lying around to make these. You can totally customize them to fit your style, and of course I had to deck mine out with floral prints and lace hehehe 🙂 I think these would make really nice homemade gifts!  Would you guys ever like to see a tutorial on how to make these? Let me know if you would!

DIY Pearly Peter Pan Collar

ImageHey everyone! Today I’m sharing a DIY project I recently did – this elegant peter pan collar! I learned how to do this from Mizzglamorazzi’s GIY Peter Pan Collar Necklaces video. It’s super easy to make, and I think it looks so pretty over a solid sweater for the fall and winter time. I also love that it’s completely customizable!

Will any of you be trying out this fun project? ♥

I got a bunch of mini pumpkins and plastic fanged teeth and got to work! I think they turned out so cute! Each one turns out different, which adds to the fun 🙂 I will definitely be making these every year now!

DIY Paper Wreath

Hey guys! This wreath that I’m sharing today looks so awesome, but all it’s made out of is paper and a tiny bit of cardboard! I got this idea online. Mine turned out pretty huge (because I used big pieces of paper) but wreaths like this can easily be made to the size of your liking.  I’m contemplating where this beast is going to hang, but I know I want to put it somewhere! If you’re looking for something to hang on an empty wall, you might want to consider making one of these (:

Jean Jacket Makeover

Hey guys! So, I love cutting things up and making them new again. It’s so much more rewarding then going out and buying something, and it’s pretty cool to think that what you made is an original! Recently I upcycled an old jean jacket into this cute girly vest. I’m in love with the way it turned out. The best part is it was simple to do! I just cut the sleeves off of the jacket, cut out a piece of fabric that fit the back of it, hand stitched that on, and finally glued on the lace to give it a more finished look. You could even use fabric from an old piece of clothing for the back of the vest to keep up the recycling theme (:

Don’t throw out that old clothing! It’s just screaming to be made into something new!

DIY Cat Crossbody Bag

Hey guys! I recently saw a picture of a crossbody bag with a cute little cat face on it, and the minute I saw it I thought “I have to try to make that!”. So that’s what I did 🙂 I grabbed my trusty white duct tape and made the base of the purse, and then glued some black felt on the flap and added some glitter (because glitter makes everything better hehe) Finally I painted the cat face on with fabric paint. I think it turned out really cute!

Duct Tape and Magazine Purse

Hey! Today I’m going to be sharing a project that I really love! It’s this purse made from duct tape and magazines. I’ve been wanting a new purse for a while now, and when I figured out I could make one with a $5.00 roll of white duct tape and some magazines I had lying around, I was so excited! This took me about an hour and a half to make – it’s super easy to do. I made the base of the purse from duct tape, and then cut out random words from some magazines I didn’t want anymore (I love using Teen Vogue for projects like this because they’re filled with bright and fun font!). After I cut out the words, I taped the back of them to the purse and then finished it off with some clear packaging tape to seal the paper and keep it in place. Duct tape actually makes a sturdy and strong bag, and it’s water proof! Yay! 🙂 I love the way this turned out – it’s different and eye-catching. And it cost almost nothing! Win win!

Hi guys! Today I’m going to be sharing a project I recently did – this adorable journal made with old jeans! I got this idea from a post on an awesome blog called Life Made Creations. The minute I saw the journal I knew I had to make it. I love recycling old clothing, so this was right up my alley. I really like the way it turned out 🙂 And can we talk about the little pocket that can hold your writing utensils? How cute is that?!

Next time you’re going through your closet, think twice about getting rid of those old jeans!
